Where it shines

What changes when your audio never travels to a server.

  • Free, no catch

No tool sits behind a paywall: the compressor, the de-esser and the LUFS meter are as free as the converter.

  • Our own audio engine

Effects aren’t the browser’s built-in ones: SH Core processes them in 32-bit floating point, with no clipping between steps. What you hear is what you download.

  • Your recordings stay with you

Interviews, voice notes or unreleased demos are processed in your browser: nobody else gets to hear them.

  • No ads, no jingles

No ads on the page, and no jingles or audio watermarks slipped into your recording.

  • No daily quota

Process as many tracks as you like. Long recordings only depend on your device’s memory and power.

  • Nothing to install

No software or plugins: record, edit and export from any up-to-date browser, on your phone too.

SH Core

The engine behind every effect

ShiftAny Audio’s effects don’t rely on the browser’s generic nodes: they’re processed by SH Core, our own audio engine, which runs in your browser and is measured against industry reference tools.

  • 32-bit floating point
  • ITU-R BS.1770-4
  • True-peak limiter
  • WAV up to 32-bit float

The whole chain in a single render, with no clipping between effects
  • What you hear is what you download

Preview and export run the same code and produce bit-identical results. In MP3 and AAC, only the format’s own loss applies.

  • Chain effects without losing quality

Between one effect and the next, the signal stays in 32-bit floating point: no clipping at 0 dBFS and no requantization.

  • Studio-grade loudness metering

Metering follows ITU-R BS.1770-4 and is validated against ffmpeg on 17 real recordings: at most 0.02 LU apart.

  • Mastering-grade resampling

On par with SoX in frequency response and alias rejection: 225 of 225 measured points within 1 dB of its reference.

Figures measured with SH Core version 1.1.0.

Pipeline

From a single file to a full chain

When one tool isn’t enough, the Pipeline joins several in one flow: build the chain once and run it on one recording or dozens, with one output file for each.

  1. One batch, one file per recording

Drop all your recordings into an Input in batch mode: each one runs through the chain on its own, and you download them together.

  2. Settings fitted to every recording

With Auto, the equalizer, de-esser, compressor and silence remover recalculate for each file in the batch.

  3. Try it before you export

Listen to the result up to any step of the chain before you process the whole batch.

Why ShiftAny Audio instead of a typical online audio editor

Frequently asked questions

Can I use ShiftAny Audio to produce a podcast?

Yes. You can record your voice, remove silences, equalize it, tame harsh esses, compress it with podcast presets and check its loudness in LUFS before publishing, all without leaving your browser.

How do I get audio ready for Spotify or YouTube?

Normalize its loudness to −14 LUFS without the true peak going above −1 dBTP, the level those platforms ask for. The “Prepare audio for Spotify and YouTube” recipe does it in one go and exports a 16-bit WAV with dither.

How does ShiftAny Audio relate to ShiftAny Files?

Files works with documents and PDFs; Audio works with sound. They are separate platforms, each at its own address, built the same way: in your browser and without an account.
